Ochsner Lafayette General is beginning the expansion of the Ochsner Lafayette General Orthopedic Center, soon to become the Ochsner Lafayette General Orthopedics & Sports Medicine Institute. This major renovation and expansion will significantly enhance the center’s orthopedic treatment capabilities. The project includes a 17,200-square-foot upgrade to the existing orthopedic facilities and a 14,000-square-foot expansion dedicated to physical therapy and sports medicine services, with a total estimated cost of $19 million including equipment. This investment aims to elevate patient care and service offerings in orthopedics and sports medicine.

The central nurse station directly off the lobby is positioned to tie the sports performance and physical therapy gyms together functionally.

The physical therapy gym has expansive views of the outdoors. Rubber flooring is used throughout for comfort underfoot and to aid in acoustics.
