As part of the 390-acre Greenwood Park, the facility sits within a heavily wooded area as a new park amenity. A central sports court is surrounded by an upper running track. Additional ground floor areas include classroom & meeting space, multipurpose space, and a climbing wall. With a large, signature entry plaza, the facility complements the recent master plan vision for Greenwood Park.
The facility is designed to be a FEMA Safe Room for emergency shelter needs. It meets federal standards established by FEMA and qualifies as an emergency shelter for hurricane evacuees.
