Sofia Mesa Cure
Student Intern
Sofia Mesa Cure is a summer intern at WHLC Architecture and a fifth year architecture student at Louisiana State University. Originally from Columbia, her interest in architecture began while growing up in Panama City, Panama, where she was surrounded by high-rise buildings that sparked her curiosity about how structures shape a city's identity.
Sofia is especially interested in mixed-use developments, drawn to the way they integrate residential, commercial, and public spaces into cohesive, active environments. This summer, she is focused on learning how conceptual ideas are translated into functional, buildable designs while gaining hands-on experience throughout the process.
Sofia brings a thoughtful and globally influenced perspective to her work, along with a strong curiosity for how design can balance functionality and artistic expression. Outside of architecture, she enjoys reading and is multilingual, with a passion for learning new languages.
