WHLC AMONG THE 2025 BEST PLACES TO WORK IN BATON ROUGE
Celebrating our team—two years strong!
We are excited to share that, for the second year in a row, WHLC Architecture has been named as one of the 2025 Best Places to Work in Baton Rouge. This award from The Greater Baton Rouge Business Report celebrates businesses with exceptional workplace environments who promote personal and professional growth and prioritize individual well-being.
Companies are evaluated based on eight core focus areas: leadership and planning; corporate culture and communications; role satisfaction; work environment; employees’ relationships with supervisors; training, development, and resources; pay and benefits; and overall employee engagement. Each company goes through a two-part process. The first part assesses each company’s workplace policies, practices, and demographics; the second part consists of an employee survey to measure employee experience. The combined scores determine the top companies and their final rankings.
Here are a few reasons why we love being part of WHLC:
Specialized Training, Development, & Resources
Our staff has ample opportunities and resources for continuing education, mentorship, and training. Licensing examination costs, professional licensing fees, and association memberships are all paid by the firm, as well as national and local conference attendance.
Friendly Work Environment & Corporate Culture
Our diverse staff brings a variety of backgrounds and expertise, resulting in a collaborative, high-caliber environment. Besides these working relationships, we prioritize celebrating employees’ professional and personal milestones, enjoying each other’s company during monthly game nights, frequent office lunches, team site visits, lunch & learns, trips to conferences, as well as our annual holiday parties.
Active Involvement in the Local and Regional Community
Team engagement in community programs and civic/volunteer organizations is strongly encouraged, many of our staff hold leadership roles in these associations. We also support students through participation in architecture and interior design workshops and school career days. As a firm, WHLC supports various regional organizations and philanthropic causes.
Work-Life Balance as a Priority
WHLC maintains a flexible work hour policy: during the first year of employment, employees earn 20 days of PTO in addition to 9 paid holidays, plus the week between Christmas and new Years at the discretion of the partners. WHLC’s Gulf Shores Condo is also available for a one week stay free of charge for each employee annually. In addition to fantastic healthcare benefits and paid maternity and paternity leave, we offer 401k retirement plan matching.
We believe that by taking care of our team and equipping them to be their best, we can maintain an excellent workforce. Our staff works diligently at their craft, and consequently, we have the opportunity to partner with other outstanding business who rank of the 2025 Best Place to Work list. We would like to extend our congratulations on this well-deserved honor to our friends at Emergent Method, Ryan LLC, McGlinchey Stafford, B1 Bank, HNTB Corp., Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center, IEM, Provident Resources Group, MAPP, T. Baker Smith, Salas O’Brien, Stuart & Company, Franklin Associates, DAA Media + Marketing, HNTB, and Forte & Tablada.
